Spring Fling 2004 came out big at Methodist College. Beating last year’s event be cause of rainy weather and fewer attractions, this year’s Spring Fling attracted students, faculty and staff all who were looking to have a good time. Last Saturday, the Student Activities Committee (SAC) hosted it’s annual Spring Fling Fes tival. It was set up between the residence hails to increase student involvement. New- SAC director Charles Amerson facilitated the event along with the help of stu dents who are involved in SAC. Free t-shirts were handed out while cookout food and cookies were served to hungry attendants. The weather w'as perfect for the water gun laser tag and the inflat able football field that attracted many participants. In relay form, teams raced to the top, and ended in a big slide down to the bottom of the set. Entertainment came in the form of rapper, ‘‘Light Skin,” and his VA Posse. They came for an 4 4 encore performance after they per formed at the MC Late Nite talent show last Wednesday. Rocking their Virginia orange and blue jer seys, the rappers socialized with students before performing and DJ-ing the event. This year, on Friday night, a Spring Fling dance was held at the Holiday Inn Bordeaux. SAC and SGA sponsored the dance, which has not been held at Methodist in several years. A successful en deavor, the event lasted from 9 p.m. until 1a.m., and had a luau theme this vear. Photos by by Hannah Hamer Clockwise: There was fun to be had with the inflatable football field. Go-Carts were seen speeding throught the parking lots becoming a very popular attraction. Socializing was the main reason for Spring Fling and there was enough sunshine to pass the joy around. fisidlo Top 10 Point/Counterpoint: SSovies you’ll ■***Creation vs. Evolution ^ J CD Revsevv : ThIS ISSU0« 'Songs about Jane"
